I'm a huge fan of Priime — both on iOS and macOS. Click here to see all the articles and videos I've done on it before, including a couple of podcasts. So when Priime RAW for iPad came out, I got really excited!

Priime RAW allows you to edit from a RAW file on your iPad or iPad Pro, meaning you can get a lot more detail out of an image, especially if it's a little under or overexposed to start. As we all know, working from RAW is usually preferred.

Unfortunately though, I feel like Priime RAW is missing a lot of features that it needs to become truly necessary on my iPad. I have it now and will continue to use it, because I do love the looks, but unfortunately the lack of some features, and some decisions to leave certain capabilities out, make it somewhat harder to use, which means it's somewhat less useful.

I've recorded a video about it so you can see what it does, and doesn't do. I've also included a few photos below treated in the app, so you can see the excellent results first hand.

These sample photos shot on a LUMIX GH5 with the Leica 100-400mm lens and edited on my iPad Pro using Priime RAW.
