Things have been slow in Aperture-land, so here’s a little something to tide you over…

I’ve talked about backup a bunch in the past (just go to the Archives page and do a page text search for “backup”) which apparently got some attention; this infographic was sent along to me to consider sharing. It’s cute and relavent, so here you go. Enjoy!


Backblaze Cloud Backup Now Features iOS App

This is a nice (and free!) addition to an already stellar service. If you’re a Backblaze user, you can now get a free iOS app to monitor your backups and even retrieve files on the go.

For those new to the site, I’ll say it again… unless you have three copies of a file, the file doesn’t exist.

Most of you know by now I’m a big fan of cloud backup, and specifically Backblaze. A lot of users say “sounds good but I don’t have the bandwidth to use it for my photo files”. Hogwash. And here’s why, proven by simple math.

Did You Know… You Can Move and Rename Your Photo Stream Projects

Did you know that you can move and even rename your Photo Stream projects, and Aperture will still find them and continue to automatically import the photos?

Set the Preferences

If you have your Preferences set to automatically import your Photo Stream photos…

Aperture 3 Photo Stream Preferences set to automatically import photos

Then the photos are automatically imported into a project named “Month year Photo Stream”, like this:
