I just created a vault and after i backed it up the vault wheel was still yellow ( I believe it is supposed to be black when backed up and yellow indicates you need to back it up). So I backed up the vault again, which went much faster, but the color is still yellow. Does anyone know what this means?

Yellow is like the intermediate stage where all the images are backed up (as files) but there are a few minor changes which are not backed up, like say marking something as rejected or changing some other ratings. Deleting or adding files should make it change to red.

I’ve seen this issue a couple times, and usually it’s just a temporary issue that Aperture didn’t change the icon in my experience. Try restarting Aperture, or deleting an image or two and once it ‘goes red’ backup again and it should work fine.

While it’s a weird issue, all your data should still be safe! :)

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I restarted aperture and no luck; it was still yellow. So I deleted an image form 2 separate projects, updated the vault, and now it is black.

What a relief, I was nervous….Thank you very much
