Lift stamp tool #1

Hey there
i have been puzzled with the lift and stamp tool
I all ways mess up my with balance so i use the lift stamping tool to fix it
but is so slowwwwww
10 photos in raw takes 1-2 minnutes to get them updated
i tryed the same thing in LR3 beta and it was done in secones
how does i get Aperture to do the same !!!
i have seen the podcast from apple and there it is done in secones i know it is mac with beef
i use a MBP 2009 with 4 GB and 200 mb free space
what can i do help please

Henrik,

The problem is likely the only 200MB of free space. You need a lot more than that for OS X to be effective—I think at least as much free HD space as you have RAM (so for you, 4GB free space). Time to delete some files you don’t need anymore!

sorry i typed wrong i have 200 gb free space on my harddrive
i just reformated the disc to make sure nothing was running in the back ground
i checked cpu load and it is low so i Think the system is good so is aperture just slow or what

Henrik,

OK, 200GB free is *much* better ;-)

When you say it takes 1–2 minutes to get them updated, what exactly do you mean? Check the Activity window to see what’s actually happening. The change to the files should happen nearly instantly. Then the thumbnails will redraw, and finally the Previews will redraw. The Previews will be the slowest part, but is all happening in the background. If you select any one of the stamped images in the Viewer, it will apply immediately and you should see the change on screen right away. At any point you could export the image as well, and again, the effect will be applied.
