Duplicate Equipment #1

I just downloaded Aperture Inspector and noticed right away I have duplicate names of a couple of my cameras. Likewise, some of my lenses names are duplicated. The entries are not duplicated, rather it appears that the number of shots and other data are split between the multiple occurrences of a camera or lens.
Is there any way to merge such entries so I can see ALL the data for a given lens or camera on a single screen?

Hi Steve

We are aware of this problem, and are planning a fix for it.

The problem comes from aperture itself, as the old versions read less data about lenses than the new ones do. So the longer you have used aperture, the more different names you’ll get for the same equipment.

Cheers

Great! I started right after Aperture 2 came out, so that explains the multiple choice I’m getting.

Have you tried to use the “Update from master” tool? Lenses that Aperture recognize in multiple ways can be re-scanned to match the last description, so you have only one! Maybe in the future you’ll have to do this again.
