When posting a question here on the forums, please be sure to provide as much information as possible so we can more easily help you. Have you updated the printer drivers? If not, go to the HP website and make sure you have the latest drivers for that printer. Chances are they have been updated since Lion. Are you running the latest OS X 10.7.2 and Aperture 3.2.2? Are you able to print to the photo tray from any other application, and if so, which ones?

Sorry for inadequate info. I had already done all that. The answer turned out to be that I was setting the wrong paper size!
