Firmware Updates for LUMIX S1 & S1R + 24-105mm & 70-200mm Lenses
This wasn't big news so you may have missed it, but back on April 23, 2019 Panasonic released small firmware updates version 1.1 for the LUMIX S1 and LUMIX S1R, which included:
- Improvement of accuracy in exposure during burst shooting
- Improvement of accuracy in flash sync performance
More recently, on June 06, 2019, they released version 1.1 updates for their two zoom lenses. The update for the S-R24105 Panasonic LUMIX S 24-105mm f/4 includes:
- Improved the performance of O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer).
While the S-R70200 Panasonic LUMIX S PRO 70-200mm f/4 update includes:
- Improved the performance of O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer)
- Became compatible with 1.4x Teleconverter (DMW-STC14) and 2x Teleconverter (DMW-STC20).
The process for updating your gear hasn't changed, so there's no need for me to do a new video on it; just watch this one from the October 2018 G series updates to learn how.
NOTE: remove the battery grip to successfully run the firmware updates!

PS — in case you missed it, the V-Log firmware update for the S1 has been announced. Learn all about it here.

Has anybody had any issues updating their 70-200mm Lens? I have downloaded the update tried it in Slot 1 and Slot 2 pressing the play button and all I get is the No valid picture to play. The file I’m using is 4002V011.plf
Thanks for any help.
Thanks

I actually haven’t run these updates yet. Did you format the card first? Reboot the camera before attempting to update? Put the update on the root level?

PSS — I just responded to your other comment. It’s not a waste of time to update; I’d like to help you but you have to tell me what is and isn’t happening, what you have and haven’t tried. Comments like “it doesn’t work” and that it’s a “waste of time” are not constructive.

PSS — they are two separate updates that must be run individually. Did you download both files, and run each update individually?

Dear photojoseph
i did. The lens file downloads successfully but no option for update when it is in the camera.

OK, then I suggest going through the steps from the beginning. Remove the battery grip if you have one (per an earlier comment in this thread, that appears to be necessary). Format the card. Download a new copy of the updated file. Copy the update file for the lens (and only the lens) to the card and try to update.
