Hi folks,
I don’t have LR (yet…I might someday), but I’m asking for a client.
He’s interesting in keywording his photographs, but wonders if LR, or any program for that matter, will display the keywords on screen during playback of a slideshow etc.?
Ie. I have some photos of myself, my son and a snowy owl I was photographing.
If I view that in a slideshow, will my name, his name and ‘snowy owl’ be viewable on-screen?
He said he’s previously used Kodak Easyshare which used to do that, but it’s an older program no longer on his computer.
It’s a neat idea. I’d be very interested for myself as I’m scanning in my Grandmother’s photographs and even though I’ll have information keyworded, it’d be really nice to have it onscreen so I don’t have to look at the file :)
Cheers,
Brian
Brian, I just returned from a trip and created a slideshow. As far as I know there is no way to include keywords. You can include star ratings and there is an option for a text overlay (which I did not use). However, I’m not sure if the text overlay is the same for every picture in the slideshow or if you can manually enter the keyword(s) for each picture. The only workaround that I could think of, which would be tedious, would be to first export the photo into Photoshop and manually add text to each picture with the keyword(s) and save that back to Lr then use that phot for the slide show.

Hi Florian,
Thanks.
I also had this response from another forum:
“
When you are in the SlideShow option, on the left hand side there is ‘Template Browser’.
One of the options in there is ‘Exif Metadata’, which displays the data at the edge of the slideshow. Before starting the slideshow, you can double click the data in the main screen and alter size. I haven’t quite find how to select which data is shown and which is not yet… ”
Cheers,
Brian
