I need to put a file into the folder in the subject. I understand that Lion hides the library folder and I know how to unhide it, but where do I manually put a plug-in file if there is no Aperture folder inside Application Support?

Plug-in files normally go in the root Library folder so that all users can access them. If you were to put it only in your user Library folder, then they would only be available when logged into that specific account.

This is where plug-ins are installed by default:
/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins

This is the Library folder at the root level of the boot drive, not in your user folder. If the folders don’t exist, you can create them with the Finder’s New Folder command.

Thanks! Had to manually create the folder
