Prompted for serial number again #1

Has anyone else had their Aperture lose the plot and prompt for serial number on an existing installation?

This is at least the second time it’s happened to me with Aperture 3 (this time is after the OS X 10.6.4 upgrade, I think the last time was after one of the Aperture 3.0.x updates), and it’s quite annoying.

Glenn,

It’s probably a permissions issue on your serial number file. I recommend you first Repair Permissions in Disk Utility, and then manually delete the serial number file and on next launch it’ll ask for the serial number again—hopefully for the last time.

That file can be found at:
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/ProApps/ProAppsSystemID (notice that it’s at the root level, not at the user level).

Not very helpful but it has never happened to me. All upgrades have been successful and never a prompt for the serial number.
Sorry.
