Locking up #1

On enough occasions to be annoying Aperture locks up. It is not enough of a lockup to have to do a force quit, but enough of one to have to quit from Aperture and restart. The various choices turn grey and really nothing can be done. This happened prior to the latest OS and App updates and has continued afterwards.

iMac (3.33ghz) with 4gb memory and 2gb harddrive (no where near full)
OS 10.6.7
Aperture 3.1.2

Any ideas? Bob

Bob,

Have you noticed if this happens as you’re switching between applications, and then suddenly you can’t do anything in Aperture after you’ve switched back?

There are a series of things you can do to clean up your system. If you hold down command-option while launching Aperture, you’ll get the First Aid dialog. Try repairing permissions and then repairing the database, that can clean up a world of problems.

Do that first, and we’ll take it from there.

No, not while switching apps. Thanks for the command-option tip. I have done those first two fixes and while nothing was noted as being fixed, I did not have the problems yesterday, and that is good.
