Not sure if my little guy requests had anything to do with this, but in 3.0.2 Apple included the following:

*Aperture 3.0.2 changes the behavior of the Activity monitor to show the names of the files being processed. This is great if a corrupted image file is hanging in export or import—now it’s possible to see the name of the file causing any issues.*

This was my #1 recommendation/peeve in many posts here, at Apple’s Support forums, and elsewhere as to what Apple for what needed to added/fix in A3.
