Lately Im getting http://cl.ly/image/1y0J2t3T2p1a Lib updating notice which prevents me from closing Aperture for 15 mins or so. Any Idea why? The libraries have been rebuilt lately. So when I exit AP this message appears and I have to let it finish before I can shut down the computer. PS trying out the Cloud app that Walter? suggested here on AP Expert.

Oh I am noticing page outs in Activity Monitor when using PS6 or AP 3.4.3 . I have 8 gigs non apple ram MBP late 2009 17”. Ram was swapped out few days ago for similar non apple ram to no joy. Is this update lib due to ram?

Update…. I think. I have defraged my lib and pulled out some projects that have masks or paths generated from PS to no joy. However I have been watching the Activity Monitor regarding Inactive and Free Ram, in the Pie chart. Something depth within in not releasing Inactive to aperture when it needs more Ram. It is also true if I’m running PS with 10 images 16bit files and layering them, this is while AP is not running. When I get close to all blue or no free space the page outs start happing. When this happens I get the original problem of Lib Rebuilding as Im quitting AP. So I think Its time to Nuke and re-pave the HD… too many old versions of osx upgraded. Have to time this in-between jobs…

…Or buy a new iMac for home heavy processing. And since AP4 (if ever) comes out it will need a better machine than my late model 2009 mbp….. Really dont have the $ and its Tax time!…. My Library that I call “Precious”, (in a voice from the hobbit), is calling to me now.

Hope that Nuke works. Cheers
