Does iPhoto 9.3 only share Aperture 3.3 Managed Libraries or Referenced too? #1

I was excited about the shared library between Aperture and iPhoto.

Does iPhoto only work with managed Aperture libraries though? I am getting many errors when I point iPhoto to a referenced Aperture 3.3 library.

e.g. -” Alert - cannot find photo xyz.jpg” with a dialog to cancel or find

Any thoughts?

Joe,

I just opened my Aperture library in iPhoto and it accessed referenced images fine. It was slow as hell, but it’s a huge Aperture library.

Oh right… try repairing your library in Aperture, then opening again in iPhoto. Instructions are in the FAQ if you’re not familiar with the process.

I have the same problem.

No solution yet, I have rebuilt and repaired both the iphoto and aperture libraries with no effect.

Rather disappointed in this I have around 7000 photos and spent 6 hours clicking cancel (yes, I was doing other stuff as well) only to have iphoto crash 3/4 of the way through.
