How to recover Aperture Photos from Time Machine #1

Have moved to new Catalina. Saved all photos into folders because haven’t made my mind up what is my next photo editor. Unfortunately, I must have missed some photos to move into the folders. They are still in the Aperture Library on the time machine. How to recover them? Can’t open the App.

Actually you might be able to run Aperture. I haven’t had a chance to verify this, but this is reportedly a way to run Aperture on macOS Catalina:

If that doesn’t work, you can open the Aperture library package by right-clicking on it and choose “open package”, and then dig through to find the Masters folder. That’ll have all the originals in it, safe and sound.

I did download the Retroactive and Aperture runs perfectly. I just need to connect that thing with the Timemachine. I let you know.

Thanks a lot

Thanks Joseph for this suggestion. I haven’t upgraded to Catalina yet, I always wait a few minor update releases to upgrade, but I will consider Retroactive for I still don’t like the alternatives to Aperture.
