Color picker? #1

In Photoshop I’m used to being able to click anywhere on an image to pick a color, but that doesn’t seem to work here.  Suppose I want to create a gradient from one color to another color.  I want to pick those colors from the image itself (for example, removing a reflection on the side of a car by creating a gradient of two colors to hide the reflection).  How to pick those colors in Affinity Photo?  Thanks.

Bill, it is not obvious how to use the picker, but see if this helps. Select the Colour tab on the right panel. There are two circles - foreground and background - with a double ended arrow. Beside that is an eye-dropper, then a small circle. So the Small circle can be dragged over your image to select a colour. Then click on the eye-dropper, select one big circle and click. This will establish say the background colour. Repeat for foreground colour.

For the Gradient tool, selecting an end circle then doing the eye-dropper routine will establish your colour gradient. You might have to play with this for a while.
