The Next Adjustment Preset Pack? #1

Many of you have purchased the ApertureExpert’s Adjustment Presets Pack #1, and I thank you greatly for that! I've been slowly working on Pack #2, in bits and pieces… and now I want to hear what YOU would like to see in it.

More “movie/film” looks? B&W effects? Cross-processing effects? More grain? More dirt? More gradients? Something I'm not thinking of at all?

Let me know!

I’ve always been a huge fan of David Lachapelle’s photography. Is it possible to creat a preset “a la lachapelle”?
Thank you for your consideration,
Lucie

Hi Joseph,

I love your presets, they are a wonderful starting point. I would love to see cross-processing effects for sure. I love the movie like presets a lot, so there could be more of them and some textures would be nice too (if Aperture allows them). :)

Thanks a lot.

Yes, yes, yes! Joseph, I would definitely like to have more film effects for film noir, neo-noir, and science fiction noir in BW and color. To give you inspiration, I’m thinking Sunset Boulavard, Maltese Falcon, & Raging Bull. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Basic Instinct. Dexter, Dark Knight, and Sin City… And BLADE RUNNER! Possible?

Hi Joseph, here is a link to the PS actions I would like to be able to do in Aperture…I love her B&W, Luxe/Luxe II and color and Haze actions. Would love to see something simular for Aperture :) If you could come up with something similar could we then use them with your textures we already have? Thanks for your site. I am having a ball playing with my new camera and have learned so much from you! (although I still have a LOOOONNNG way to go, we just opened some pics I took of my daughter at easter, they were beautiful she had a big tree behind her that was in perfect focus and my daughter was a big blurry blob lol….todays lesson is learning focal point!)

Hmm, ok… pastel-like, washed out, high-contrast. Yeah, that can be done. I had some similar samples on my to-do list already. Thanks!

Any idea when these might be coming? I would love to see some Flora Bella type stuff also, and more vintage/ retro looks, and yep, CP. So excited!

Misty,

No release date, sorry… I know I need to do it and definitely will. Too much stuff happening at once! haha… and Final Cut Pro X was just released, which will keep me busy for a while, too. I need more hours in the day! ;-)

Hi Joseph! Several people have already asked for the same thing, but I adore the Florabella actions as well, and have been searching high and low looking for something similar for Aperture and trying desperately to try to achieve my own level of it but I’m just missing the mark. I’m sure you have much more experience to know exactly how to achieve this much better than I can on my own! Please, please, please can you make some presets for us like that! I will definitely be a buyer!!! Looks like you would have many buyers actually! ; )

Hans,

There really isn’t great control for advance black and white in Aperture natively; nothing like what you can do in Nik’s Silver Efex Pro. But I’ll keep trying to get some better looks for you to play with :)
