I just purchased converting your master script. I am trying to install it and am not getting very far. I can not find the folder Library/Scripts/Aperture folder. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,

Erik

Erik,

I believe in the instructions it says to create these folders if they do not already exist, does it not?

Joseph,

Yes it does. How and where would I do this?

Erik,

Just like you would create any other folders.

From the user guide:

Copy the included Scripts into the folder ~/Library/Scripts/Aperture/ (if any of those folders are missing, manually create them). If you’re running Mac OS X Lion, the Library folder is hidden from view. To access it, select the Go menu in the Finder, and press the Option key on your keyboard. The Library will appear in the list.

So as it says… hold down Option key while clicking Go menu and you will see the Library. (On my system I have to press Shift to get it, because I changed something along the way, but it’s supposed to be Option). Then just create whatever folders don’t already exist.

Joseph: I too am having trouble with installation. I checked the box in the AppleScript preferences as instructed. I created the folder Scripts in my Library - Go_Hold Option key etc - and then created a sub folder, ‘Aperture’. I copied the icon ‘4-Up Auto Levels…etc’ into the Aperture sub folder, not the words themselves. I do not see the Script icon or menu in Aperture, so I cannot see the 4-Up images. What am I missing? Thanks. Gerald Levy.

Ah, wait, after one more cup of coffee, I see the Script icon now…so sorry. Let me play with it and let you know if the problem persists. Thanks!

Got it! As always, good value!

Gerald,

I make it a personal policy to not do anything before coffee ;-)

I suggest one short addition to the .pdf instructions re using AppleScripts: point out that the Scripts icon will be in the menu bar at the very top right of the display along with the Airport, Time Machine, Bluetooth and other icons. I was looking for it to appear in the Aperture menu bar, to no avail, and I kept restarting my MacBook to see if it would magically appear there.

Thank you for the suggestion Tom. I have updated the PDF to be included in the next revisions of the scripts.
